But before we share all that with you, I would like to tell you our story.
In the fourth grade, Melinda introduced herself to our table as "Watermelon."
I thought to myself, this girl is intriguing stuff, and befriended her.
In the fifth grade, we created a weirdness contest at our table to see who could earn the most weirdness points by the end of the year. Melinda held second place, and me third. We also discussed her cat, Tony, who had a hematoma in his ear which made it all floppy. And we made an eraser family.
In the sixth grade, we talked only across the Internet, struggling to maintain contact. We attended different schools, and I thought our friendship would fade away forever, but the following summer changed that.
Melinda had a story idea. She wrote a few paragraphs, but eventually, Writer's Block got to her. She set it aside and for several months, and the story gathered dust.
Though Melinda and I hardly ever see each other anymore due to school redistricting, we are some of the best friends this world would ever meet. And to tell you a secret, I really love her.I think that was when we first found ourselves-in the writing that we shared. We realized our talents in writing and we fought to keep it forever. That summer, we wrote twelve chapters to that story. This past summer, I asked her if she'd done any writing lately. She recalled back to the story and sent it to me. I really liked what she wrote and I asked her for the storyline. I was truly intrigued, so I asked her permission to join in and get the story going.

Anyway, I welcome you to our blog again. I will be posting Mondays, and Melinda Thursdays. But we may skip days if things come up. If you not only would like to see our creativity written down and posted in this blog, but also our personal writing and life excerpts, please direct yourself to our personal blogs, The World As I See It ( Melinda ), and Contemporary Realism ( Sara ).
