Sorry for the late post. D= New Quarter just started, but it's not much of an excuse. Here's one of my Work-In-Progress stories. I need to get to writing in it. Anyway, enjoy.

Standing impatiently for the B train to arrive at seven thirty-six a.m., twenty-three-year-old, Vera Goldstang, was late for work. The morning rush to catch the A train was a blur of a hairdryer, an empty stomach and several calls from her boss informing her of her punctuality. She should’ve already been standing dutifully by her boss, Mary Schrider, the C.E.O. of a major company, taking notes and bringing Mary gourmet coffee over half an hour ago. Unfortunately, the night before, Vera had a drink too many and hadn’t bothered to set an alarm to wake up this morning. A painstaking headache gnawed at her forehead.
Suddenly, a stranger from fifteen feet to her left approached her, his rugged facial hair highlighted by the fluorescent light from overhead. Vera watched with worried eyes as the distance between the two closed and began walking away, astonished at his nerve. He started running at her, and Vera sprinted down the subway.
“Wait!” he shouted at her in a smooth voice, “Be careful!”
“You’re telling me, mister,” she muttered under her breath.
“Please! It’s for your safety!” he continued, noticing that she hadn’t stopped.
Vera ran out of breath just as she realized that she was carrying pepper spray in her purse. She quickly scrambled to get it out and paused her feet where they stood. She hid the spray just behind her back, waiting as the stranger came closer.
“Listen, lady; I just wanted-”
Before he could finish his sentence, Vera had unleashed the wicked liquid from the small container into the man’s face. He screamed in agony as though two dozen bees had stung him in the lip.
